The first Tintin adventure was created in 1929, yet this new colour version is surprisingly fresh and modern to read. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Tintin acquires his distinctive physical appearance as he jumps into a convertible car. To suggest speed Hergé drew the reporter's hair sticking up; the tuft remained forever after.
The deluxe version of the album, with stamped cloth binding and numbered offprint (1-50,000), has a supplementary preface by Philippe Goddin in which the author looks back at the beginning of the Tintin legend and outlines the history of the first Tintin book.
A Moulinsart-Casterman co-publication.
