This French-language book tells the story of Tintin magazine, the children's magazine launched by Belgian publisher Raymond Leblanc in the 1940s. Tintin quickly grew in popularity and was soon being distributed internationally. Some of the best Franco-Belgian comic strip authors began or developed their careers at the magazine. Studios Hergé author Dominique Maricq traces the history of the magazine, explains Hergé's role and work in the project, and delights in recounting little-known anecdotes and interesting facts. Maricq focuses on the first twenty-year period following the launch of the magazine (1946 to 1966). Le Journal Tintin is richly-illustrated with photos, drawings and hitherto unpublished documents, and includes a facsimile of the very first issue of Tintin magazine! This book is in French.
